Tanzania has over 1,000,000 people with hearing disabilities and ONLY 5 Sign Language Interpreters. Needless to say, the dropout rate of students with hearing disabilities in Secondary Schools is high because these kids are mixed and taught alongside hearing children. Today there are only 5 deaf people who have attained a Masters level of education in Tanzania.
