My experience at Pecha Kucha Vol 4 Dar

By Sanaa & Culture

Early last month I found myself cajoled into participating as one of the speakers in a presentation event. Kind of like TEDX only the topics are more light and as I learned at the scene on the 25th Sept at Triniti Oysterbay, the timing is where the rub is.
Hilda Kiel with presentation on MUDA

It originated as a way to condense lengthy pitch's to various entrepreneurs and or employers in Japan. As Sarah Scott one of the organisers of the event in Dar relays "What they decided is to give each speaker 20seconds per slide and 20 slides in total."

Well when you visit the website  www.pechakucha.org You'll see 'the art of concise presentation' as the slogan. I should have visited the site before presenting, anyhow on this Volume 4 of Pecha Kucha  in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Organized by Archipelago at Triniti bar we had several speakers including Tino Tairo, Hilda Kiel, Amin Swai, Gloria Mangi,  Anne-Marie Souls.  Ben Kyambile, Kemi Kalikawe, Sarah Scott and myself.

Mostly all around the content was great, kwani zilikuna chachu za wasikilizaji kwa kutoa mwangaza juu ya watu mbali mbali nchini kwenye mihangaiko yao ya kila siku.

Gloria Mangi with her 'African Queens' presentation

Kemi Kalikawe wowed everyone by showing out her 'interior design' genius as  she presented on her work in TZ. Many know this lady through her fashion design works in her label 'Naledi' however it goes she also does quite a bit in interior design. Sarah Scott's piece was hilarious in her presentation on her trip with her best friend across Africa on road.

My presentation I'll say was fair in content as you can see it below. My speech to it wasn't as good #nid2brushPublicSpeakingSkills...
